Therapeutic Massage Services
At Fruition Therapy, you will receive your therapeutic massage by a licensed physical therapist. Therapeutic massage or neuro muscular therapy is often referred to as deep tissue massage. Carolyn provides therapeutic massage treatments typically for patients with a specific complaint such as neck or back pain, headaches, migraines, decreased range of motion, tight muscles, overused muscles and/or decreased joint flexibility.
The benefits of seeing a physical therapist for therapeutic massage are a physical therapist's knowledge, education and treatment options are more extensive. Your physical therapist will discuss your specific treatment goals with you. Your symptoms can be assessed and you can receive individualized treatments to address the underlying cause(s). You can also choose to receive additional treatments such as ultrasound, pain free therapeutic exercise, electrical stimulation, traction or posture and body mechanics education.
"Will my insurance pay for massage through a physical therapist?"
That depends on your insurance plan. Most if not all insurance plans only pay for services that they consider to be medically necessary. For example, maintenance treatment would not be considered medically necessary by most insurance companies.
"Can I pay cash for maintenance massages?"
Absolutely. At Fruition Physical Therapy we believe in preventative treatment.
Please be aware that patients who are only interested in massage need to pay out of pocket for their care as insurance only covers massage when it is in conjunction with a comprehensive physical therapy treatment plan. We currently do not offer full body relaxation or Swedish massage.
